YVT Online Basic Computer Course for People with Visual Impairment
The YVT Online Basic Computer Course for People with Visual Impairment is a free initiative by NAB Meerut, launched in October 2020 to empower blind and visually impaired individuals through accessible digital education.
Held entirely online via Google Meet and accessible via smartphones, this two-month course is offered six times a year — in January, March, May, July, September, and November. Classes are conducted Monday to Friday (6–7 p.m.), with Saturday sessions for revision or support.
The course includes:
Basic computer operation
MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Internet usage (browsing, email, accounts)
Screen reader training (JAWS and NVDA)
Basic troubleshooting and system navigation
HTML and web-designing with JAVA and Python
Instruction is primarily in Hindi, with English revision sessions for international learners. All participants who complete the course and pass the final test receive a certificate from NAB Meerut.
As of February 2025, we have successfully completed 25 batches, trained over 1,000 individuals, and listed nearly 800 students on our website. Many of our graduates have gone on to pursue advanced courses like Java, Python, and more.
What began as a local movement in the Meerut region has now grown into a pan-India initiative. Our reach extends across 27 Indian states and 4 Union Territories, impacting lives in rural and remote areas — from Kashmir to Tamil Nadu, from Assam to Rajasthan, and beyond.
The course is entirely free.
