Mobility training and device distribution for the visually impaired people

At NAB Meerut, mobility isn’t just about movement—it’s about independence, dignity, and confidence. Our Mobile Training and Device Distribution initiative focuses on providing smart canes to visually impaired individuals across India, paired with in-person training sessions that empower users to navigate daily life more freely.

Thanks to continued support from Torchit and Hunny Bhagchandani, we distribute Saarthee Smart Canes, advanced mobility tools that use sensors to detect obstacles and alert the user. We also ensure every recipient receives proper training to use the device safely and effectively.

We’ve organised impactful events in Meerut, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad and Agra, including a major distribution and demo session where visually impaired participants learned how to use smart canes in public spaces. We’re proud to share that many of them especially young girls are now confidently commuting on their own via buses, autos, and metros.

This growing independence has also been recognised publicly, with Amar Ujala Agra featuring our efforts and highlighting the powerful impact smart canes have had on our community.

So far, this project has helped many take their first independent steps. With your donations or partnership, we can continue to expand this effort and reach those still in need.

To support this life-changing initiative, contact Poonam Tyagi, Honorary General Secretary & Trustee, NAB Meerut.

Together, we can build a more inclusive and mobile world.
